Fleet Preventive Maintenance in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte Mobile Diesel connects fleet managers with mobile fleet preventive maintenance as well as roadside repair, DOT inspection prep, DPF service and heavy equipment repair throughout the Charlotte region.

A PM program only works if it happens on schedule. The biggest reason it doesn't is that trucks can't be spared during the day. Mobile PM solves that by servicing units where they park — in a Westinghouse Boulevard cross-dock lot, a contractor yard in Indian Trail, or a distribution center off I-85 in Concord — during nights or weekends.

PM levels explained

A service

Walk-around inspection, lights, tires and wheels, fluid levels, chassis lube, fifth-wheel grease, brake visual and air-leak check.

B service

Everything in A, plus engine oil and filter, fuel filters, air-filter restriction check, brake stroke measurements, belt and hose inspection, battery test and DEF filter where due.

C service

A deeper annual-level service: coolant condition and SCA or ELC test, transmission and differential fluid analysis or change, suspension and steering inspection, aftertreatment checks and annual inspection items.

Setting intervals for your duty cycle

Manufacturer intervals assume a typical duty cycle. Urban delivery trucks idling at docks around uptown Charlotte or the airport accumulate engine hours faster than miles and often need service sooner. Oil analysis is the most reliable way to stretch or tighten intervals with confidence.

What fleet managers get

  • A recurring visit calendar matched to dispatch
  • Per-unit service notes and findings
  • Repairs found during PM flagged with priority
  • One provider who knows your units' history

How a mobile PM night works

  1. Units due are listed in advance by unit number and mileage or hours.
  2. The tech arrives with oil, filters, grease and a waste-oil tank.
  3. Each unit gets its PM level, with findings logged.
  4. Used oil and filters leave with the service truck for proper recycling.

Oils, filters and service life

Use the oil viscosity and API category the engine manufacturer specifies (commonly 15W-40 CK-4 or 10W-30 for newer engines), premium filters from Fleetguard, Donaldson or Baldwin, and NLGI #2 lithium-complex chassis grease. Matching premium filters to extended drain intervals is what makes longer intervals safe.
